Overview for the Nikon Nivo 5MW 5 Second Winterized Reflectorless Total Station Built to work in extreme cold, the Nikon Nivo 5.MW Winterized Reflectorless Total Station (5-Second) with Nikon Survey software provides surveyors with comprehensive tools to perform topographic data collection, stakeout and layout jobs with ease. This survey equipment stands out with its legendary Nikon high clarity optics that produces clearer images in bright and low light conditions. It is also integrated with Bluetooth capability for connecting to data collectors and a large internal memory for saving files. With its compact and ultra-modern design, this device is the ideal choice for surveying in cold environments. Powerful Performance in Extreme Cold The Nikon Nivo 5.MW operates in as low as -22°F (-30°C) temperatures with its high precision EDM that provides a long-distance reflectorless measurement range of 1,640 feet, reducing the need for multiple set-ups and approximately 16,400 feet using a single prism. This optical instrument also includes a coaxial laser pointer to assist with target identification and reduce aiming time. With 10,000 points of internal memory, the Nivo M easily stores all your field data. This land surveying tool also has a tilt sensor and dual-axis compensator for perfect leveling and comes standard with a traditional optical plummet for device centering and stable angle measurements. Nikon Survey Software Nikon Survey softwarehas an intuitive and easy to learn user interface that includes a complete set of COGO and survey stakeout functions, simple data management, and quick field coding for convenient one-button data collection of point features and raw target data. Supporting both prism-based and reflectorless technologies, this field software takes advantage of the Nivo M Series’ MSR1 and MSR2 keys, which can be used to separately configure different prism or reflectorless measurement parameters, eliminating time switching between measurement modes. Reliable with an Impressive Battery Life  Featuring a single black and white LCD display and alphanumeric keyboard with large user-definable keys, the Nivo 5.MW provides fast and easy access to the functions that are used the most. With this functionality, survey tasks can be performed more quickly and efficiently, allowing surveyors to increase productivity in the field. Meeting IP66 standards with water and dust-proof protection, this field instrument is rugged and can operate in virtually all types of weather. It supports two interchangeable batteries that provide up to 31 hours of continuous measurements.  Compatible with Spectra Data Collectors With RS-232C serial and integrated Bluetooth capability, this survey total station supports cable-free connection with Spectra data collectors, such as the Nomad, Recon, Ranger and T41. This Nikon total station package comes with tribrach, plastic carrying case, two rechargeable batteries, power cord and adapters, universal charger and a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty.   What's in the BoxNikon Nivo 5.MW 5 second winterized reflectorless total station HNA30553TribrachPlastic carrying caseRechargeable Li-Ion batteries (2)Universal chargerPower cord and adaptersUser Manual2-year manufacturer's warranty   Features for the Nikon Nivo 5MW 5 Second Winterized Reflectorless Total Station Winterized for operation in up to -22°F (-30°C) 5-second accuracy 10,000-point internal memory 1,312 foot range Bluetooth  Optical plummet Coaxial red laser pointer Reflectorless Dual-axis compensation High quality Nikon optics Built-in Nikon Survey software USB high-speed data transfer port Up to 31 hours interchangeable Li-Ion batteries Water resistant and dustproof to IP-66 Single black and white LCD display Full numeric keypad Compact, rugged and lightweight   Specifications for the Nikon Nivo 5MW 5 Second Winterized Reflectorless Total Station General Weight 8.0 lbs (3.6 kg) Dimensions 5.8 in x 5.7 in x 12.0 in (14.7 cm x 14.4 cm x 30.4) Warranty 2-year Protection Class IP66 (dustproof and protection against strong water jets) Internal Memory 10,000 points Software Nikon Survey Tribrach Detachable Guide Light Red LED   Angle Measurement Measuring Method/Reading System Absolute encoder Minimum Reading 1-second/5-second/10-second Accuracy 5-second Diameter of Circle 2.4 in (6 cm)   Distance Measurement Unit of Measure (distance display) m/ft EDM Accuracy (Precision) ±(2mm + 2ppm x D) for prism; ±(3mm + 2ppm x D) for no prism Minimum Reading 500 m (1,640 ft)   Tilt Sensor/Compensator Range ±3.5 Type Dual-axis Method Liquid-electric detection   Battery/Power Power Source Two rechargeable Li-Ion batteries Battery Life 31 hours Battery Life Alert yes Voltage 3.8 V DC   Optical Plummet Image Erect Magnification 3× Field of View 5 degrees Focus Range 0.5 m (1.6 ft) to infinity   Level Circular Bubble Vial 10 minutes per division/(2 mm) Electronic Level Displayed on the LCD   Telescope Length of Tube 125 mm (4.9 in) Image Erect Diameter of Objective Lens (Aperture) 50 mm EDM (2.0 in) Magnification 30x Field of View 1 degree 20 arcmin Resolving Power 3 arcsec Minimum Focus Distance 1.5 m (4.9 ft) Reflectorless yes   Display and Keypad Type Black and white LCD Sides Single Keys Full numeric keyboard Backlight yes Pixels 128 x 64 pixels   Temperature Operating -22°F~122°F (-30°C~50°C) Storage -22°F~140°F (-30°C~60°C)   Applications Surveying and Construction yes Mapping and GIS (geographic information systems) yes Utilities yes Environment Studies yes Geomarking yes Archaeology yes   Measurement Range (under fair weather conditions) Single Prism 5,000 m (16,404 ft) No Prism 500 m (1,640 ft) Reflector Sheet 300 m (984 ft)   Functions Coordinate Measurement Point yes Angle and Distance Stake Out yes Stake Out Line yes Offsets yes Missing Line yes Remote Elevation yes Resection yes Area Calculation yes   Interface Bluetooth Class 2 Pin Port RS-232C ..
